Why Do We Call It Peel Season…

If I had to name one service as my favorite, it would be chemical peels. They are truly my niche! National first day of peel season takes place on September 7th every year. The beginning of fall is the best time for skin peeling – deep exfoliation treatments. It is because there is less sun exposure, making the season safer for stronger enzyme peels and chemical peels.

Chemical peels are a minimally invasive treatment that can be very effective for smoothing lines and removing skin imperfections without the downtime of a surgical procedure. In a peel treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin to penetrate the top layers and allow dead and dull skin to be removed. Chemical peels address a range of skin concerns including: Hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, as well as acne. After treatment a proper skincare routine is required.

What To Expect During Treatment?

During your initial appointment, our licensed aesthetician will evaluate your skin to see if you’re a candidate for a peel, and then discuss with you what to expect from the treatment. Once you’ve decided that a peel is the right course of action, we’ll work with you to create a personalized treatment plan. The treatment typically takes about half an hour. Many people schedule them during lunchtime or at the end of the day. A customized chemical solution, tailored to your skin type and condition, is applied to the face. Typically, there is little to no discomfort. The peel solution works its way into the skin, and in most cases is not removed. To soothe the skin and to promote healing, you will leave with a post procedure skincare kit.

Immediately after the treatment, you may have some redness and minor swelling, but these will go away in a day or so.

What Are The Results Of Treatment?

After the initial redness subsides, you’ll see smoother, fresher, clearer skin, which can boost your confidence and energy. Peels may need to be repeated periodically to maintain results.

As part of aftercare, you’ll have a personalized plan that will help with healing and can enhance your results when followed properly.
